I have trouble maintaining blogs. We'll see if I manage to keep at this longer than a month. My money is on "no". In any case, I doubt I'll get into personal matters here. Never know who might be reading. So - only superfluous fluff, mostly video game related. On with the show!
I finally got my hands on two hard-to-get items: Rock Band and Nintendo Wii. Rock Band is everything it's purported to be: an incredible co-op multiplayer experience, and a solid single player game to boot. I need to do more Rock Band get togethers, though. Drumming on your own isn't nearly as fun.
I haven't taken the Wii out of its packaging yet, and I'm in no hurry to do so. Mario Galaxy is pretty much the only game I want to play. Figure I might as well wait until I upgrade my TV, too.
Over Christmas I spent a lot of time with my new PSP. As a gaming device, it's probably a bit underrated. There's plenty of good to great titles, and the feeling that you're playing a PS2 on a portable system never gets old. It's not perfect, though: the refresh rate on the LCD is sluggish, the button layout is pushed so far to the sides it's uncomfortable, and it's an incredible pain to get video onto the system. For all its warts, though, it's still a very worthwhile handheld. They just need one or two exclusive, killer apps (not ports) to bring the system over the hump.
Now, if only I can get my hands on a white Nintendo DS Lite...
